Mission Ridge WWSRA Demo Day

This event rocks. Skiing the best conditions in washingon right now on 2010-2011 skis from the best in the industry. I am personally stoked on the Atomic Blog 177 and the Blizzard Answer today.
Atomic Blog 177 - Great in deep, carves fantastic. I usually ski a 186 but the 177 was super at speed. the reverse camber was what was needed not to go ass over teakettle in the pow.
Blizzard Answer 184- Wow, with a 28 m radius @186 I thought it wouldnt turn. That was a misnomer...ripped it all solid from hardpack to bumps and of course POW.
Volkl! We will be stocking skis from Volkl next year, and they are continuing to manufacture some of the best and innovative skis in the industry.
Volkl Bridge. WOW. With the skis getting fatter and fatter, it is good to see technology (early rise tip and tail) help a relatively narrow ski (92 mm in waist) just shred the deep pow. About 1' of fresh wind packed was effortless. Fantastic on the icy bumps as well. A great one quiver ski.
Tomorrow K2 and maybe Rossi? Head as well. Stay tuned for the reviews.

  1. Atomic Access- The perfect all mountain ripper...stable and confident at speed with rockered tip to have fun in the deep stuff. Easy and nimble to maneuver and the price makes the ski even better! $499 retail

Rossignol S7- Nimble POW slayer! Fun and playful but holds a nice edge on the hardpack which makes it a great all around ski for those who prefer to go FAT!

  2. Ski Shuttle Joe here~ All I'm saying is, measuring 79mm under foot, the Atomic Blackeye is over 1.5 cm wider than earlier shapes and is a huge confidence booster. Great all-mountain skis!

  3. I had one of the best days skiing ever!!

I have been skiing the K2 Launchers for the last few years and have not tried a new ski since then!

Today I demo-ed five pairs of awesome skis!

The Atomic Blog - one of the best skis of the day, smooth stable and my heals practically turned themselves, I loved these skis and I want to sell the pair we have to someone who will love them as well!

Then I tried the Atomic Panic - a good price point ski @ $399, I skied the 190's and they were a dream on the groomers, not as great in the tree's or in the crud but once I got them out in the groomers I was a able to really feel their responsiveness as I leaned forward they accelerated like crazy, so fun!

After that was a quick keilbasa at the Blizzard booth where they hooked me up with the Atlas, a kick ass solid ski that cuts through everything, turns on a dime and was so solid at any speed. These are the best skis I skied all day. These are like the grown up launchers, solid through everything the Northwest can throw us and the binding rail system make the transfer of energy from my feet to the ski so much more effortless. Tomorrow I am going to take the Blizzard Answers out!

Then it was onto the Volkl's Gordy gave us the rundown at our shop the other day and I was anxious to apply what he told us on the slopes. I started with the Kendo's, meaning the way of the sword, they lived up to their name, slicing and dicing anything I drove them through! With two layers of metal in the base of these skis they are like a japenese samuri sword, solid, smooth and fast then the eye can see, I felt like I was living Kill Bill on the slopes, for an all around ski these will always be an excellent choice.

Lastly the Volkl Montra, with a wood core, I was not feeling like a samurai, but more of a Kung Fu master, as I was a able to fly at top speeds on the groomers with a nice stable feeling.

Such a great day! Thanks to all the reps and the techs that made it happen and to the M2S crew for being so great to work with!

Tomorrow we will rock another day!!

What Ski's did you ski today?

    Ryan:

Head wild thing - was not fond of these, not rockered, looking for that forgiveness on the turns - catching to many edges.

Volki Kenja's - Loved those and wants to but wanted to but them, they turned effortlessly, the snow changed so much today, this morning was powdery, then slushy, then icy. These were a great all mountain ski.

Volki Aura - These were stiffer, getting a little icy out so that may have played a factor.

Volkl Kiku - personally they were a little long but I like the stability, they were all mountain, easy to turn and they were a nice ride, but a little long did not feel stable, rail rattling a little.

    What Did you ski/board today:

Head Peaks 78 underfoot, as a non skier jumping on a ski, they were a good beginner/intermediate ski, they handled great into the soft pack groomer and they turned well, and held the edge!

Then the Gnu rider series 162 wide magnatraction - by far my favorite ride of the day!! Super responsive, held an edge extremely well,

Then atomic banger, for a powder board it really handled well on the groomers and held an edge on the late day ice and crude!!

    YEss!!
